Eyes and Bones

I was asked to do an illustration for an article about this insane website. Now, i am way too timid to even attempt looking at any of these videos these days...but jesus christ, the internet is an amazing place.

The magazine was pushing a seven deadly sins thing, so they wanted my illustration to really push on the idea of "wrath". I couldn't really think of something that evoked the idea of "wrath" much more than women beating the ever loving shit out of each other, but i threw in some religious tattoos for the hell of it. I cant say i am super happy with the outcome, but the job was a lot of fun.

The magic of the last few weeks:

- Been to like 5 barbecues.
- Bought NERF guns at K-Mart with Robin, who proceeded to shoot me in the ears and eyes for the next few days. those fucking darts hurt if used properly.
- Remembered how much i loved riding my bike, and then forgot again.
- At nearly the age of 24, bought a skateboard for the first time in my life and realized i was the worst skateboarder on earth.
- Possibly broke my arm. it doesn't feel broken, but it looks broken...and in the world of broken limbs, LOOKING broken trumps feeling broken, right?
- Had an out of town guest, was an asshole, felt bad for being an asshole, realized it was too late to feel bad about being an asshole.
- Saw like 25 movies, one of them being Harry Potter, opening night at midnight....which was an experience to say the least.
- Have irritated the shit out of everyone i know by constantly saying "hey, check out that cute girl".
- Saw one of the cutest girls in the world, and then realized she had cross-eyes.
- Baked a red velvet cake that nearly killed 8 people.
- Have listened to the same 3 albums on repeat for almost a month.
- Became a member of camp cool, somehow.
- Watched Friday the 13th 1, 2, and 4. Sorry number 3....even with a motorcycle gang, you still suck.
- Realized that i connect a little too much with Seth Rogan on all accounts.
- Totally fell back in love with Zooey.
- Discovered the absolute magic of finding ex-girlfriends completely unappealing and unattractive.
- Had a bad mishap with 7-11's "stok" caffeine shot things. never again.
- Found the key to having girls check you out while shopping at Target.
- Started work on a short graphic novel that i will never actually finish.
- Finished the design for my sleeve that i may or may not ever get done.
- Was infuriated by how easily under-shirts can shrink when you dry them on cold.
- Kidnapped a plant.
- and last but not least, am still amazingly happy with my life. who would have thought?

Apparently someone has actually agreed to go see Rise of the Silver Surfer with me this afternoon, but only because i begrudgingly agreed to go to the Simpsons Movie tonight...on opening night....which will suck...and im terrified....and probably need to be medicated for the event.
